What better way to spend a hot summer day than a Segway tour with friends? And, within the first half hour, our friends included our guide Max. What a blast! The first few minutes where a tad intimidating on the contraption but in no time the Segway and I were one. The only complaint is that I thought it was a lazy day but every muscle was sore the next morning. All the little teeny tiny muscles used for balancing screamed at me the next day. It was a good sore.
Our tour included the Rhine, the love locks, RTL, riding the Segways through a building, then a park, past the nude sunbathers at Claudius Therme, back over the Deutzer Brücke, past the Chocolate Museum, down to the Friedens Park and the old fort, then back around to a darn long underground parking garage, past the Pegel Köln, and back to Altermarkt. Max our guide and friend did his best to keep us three women in check. Ya, good luck with that!
The coolest part was on the way home singing the Mission Impossible tune and pretending to be Jason Borne (I know but Matt Damon is so much cooler). I also offered to pull a skateborder and almost stole a kölsch from a waiter’s tray! I think there may be a short-film project in our future!
